This is the inspiration behind the title of this blog. I got my second tattoo on January 9th this year, and it reads "Pensez Ici," which is "Think Here" in French. The text breaks into and out of the box so the tattoo represents thinking outside (and inside) the box. It's a little bit of a stretch but I wanted to get something to commemorate my four years at NYU, and came up with the idea sometime during the fall. You can't really tell, but there's mehendi (henna) on my hand from my friend's brother's wedding that was also going on and I thought it was an interesting parallel to capture on camera.
This is a better photo of the mehendi. I guess the photo's a play on permanent vs. temporary, traditional vs. unorthodox/modern (not to say that tattoos are definitively modern, but there's some element of flexibility in those who are pro tattoos); simplistic vs. ornate, etc.
